About the foundation
BestColleges.com is a commercial digital media company that publishes rankings, guides, and resource articles about higher education. Its 'Scholarships for Adult and Nontraditional Students' page functions as a curated directory of external scholarship opportunities rather than a grant-making body. The organization does not award scholarships itself; instead, it aggregates and links to programs offered by colleges, foundations, and private entities. Its editorial ethos is service-oriented and informational, aimed at simplifying the financial aid search for learners returning to education later in life.

Artists should note that BestColleges.com does not accept applications, portfolios, or creative submissions. It is not a grantmaker or residency. For adult learners seeking scholarships, the site serves as a starting point for research; applicants must apply directly to the external programs listed. Artists seeking arts-specific funding should consult specialized arts councils, foundations, and residency databases instead.
