About the foundation
Bold.org is a scholarship platform founded in 2019 with the aim of democratizing access to educational funding by connecting students directly with donors and scholarship providers. Unlike traditional foundations, Bold.org operates as a technology-driven marketplace, hosting thousands of scholarships from various sponsors, including individuals, companies, and nonprofits. Its core mission is to reduce the financial barriers to education by making the scholarship application process more efficient and transparent for students of all backgrounds, including adult learners returning to school. The platform emphasizes accessibility and innovation, allowing donors to create customized scholarships and students to apply to multiple opportunities through a single profile.

Applicants should create a comprehensive Bold.org profile, highlighting their unique experiences and educational goals. Since many scholarships on the platform are donor-funded, tailoring applications to specific sponsors' interests can increase chances. Regularly check the platform for new opportunities, as scholarships are frequently added. Adult learners should filter for scholarships tagged for non-traditional students and be prepared to articulate their motivations for returning to education. Ensure all essays are original and proofread, as competition can be significant.
