About the magazine
Breakwater Review is a literary journal founded in 2010 by the MFA program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It was established to provide a platform for emerging writers while fostering a dialogue between the academic and broader literary communities. The journal publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction that demonstrate a keen attention to language and a willingness to take risks. Its mission is to showcase work that is both intellectually rigorous and emotionally resonant, reflecting the diverse voices of contemporary literature.
