About the magazine

The Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) was founded in 2010 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a community of photographers and advancing the medium through education, exhibitions, and public programs. From its inception, LACP has emphasized a supportive, non-hierarchical environment where photographers at all stages can develop their craft and engage with critical discourse. Its mission centers on providing access to high-quality workshops, lectures, and exhibition opportunities, with a particular focus on the diverse voices that constitute contemporary photography in Los Angeles and beyond.

Submitting your work

Reading periodVaries

Artists should approach LACP with a clear sense of how their work aligns with its educational and community-oriented mission. Proposals for exhibitions or workshops should demonstrate both artistic merit and a potential for audience engagement. Given the center's emphasis on accessibility, applications that articulate a thoughtful, process-driven practice and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative environment are most compelling. It is advisable to review past programming to understand the range of work supported and to tailor submissions accordingly.
