Nat 1 Publishing — PUNK anthology

Overview
Nat 1 Publishing is assembling a PUNK anthology that treats punk as a mutable, speculative impulse rather than a fixed aesthetic. The call explicitly welcomes any subgenre—steam, cyber, diesel, atom, solar, bio, dungeon—positioning the project at the intersection of genre fiction and countercultural critique. This is not a nostalgia exercise; it is an invitation to interrogate what punk means when filtered through ecological, technological, and fantastical imaginaries. The press has stated clear ethical and editorial commitments: no glorifying sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, or other forms of oppression; active support for LGBTQ+ and POC communities; original, previously unpublished work only; and a strict prohibition on AI-generated or AI-assisted text. Submissions are read blind, and simultaneous submissions are permitted with prompt notification if accepted elsewhere. There is no entry fee. The reading period runs through 31 December 2026, with decisions in January 2027, except for expedited submissions. What artists receive is publication in a curated anthology from a publisher that has articulated its values upfront. The curatorial vision favors work that engages punk as a living, disruptive energy—whether through prose or poetry—while respecting community boundaries and authorial originality. This is a call for writers who understand that punk is not a costume but a method: a way of refusing, rebuilding, and imagining otherwise.
