Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Connect and Create Professional Mobility in Performing Arts 2nd Call
Overview
Connect & Create is the Sub-Saharan Africa component of the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of the Goethe-Institut and Expertise France, in collaboration with the Institut français. This second call for professional mobility supports performing arts and music practitioners whose work is grounded in cross-regional exchange. Rather than funding isolated travel, the programme structures mobility as a curated professional itinerary integrated into international-scale events and key industry gatherings—an approach that treats movement as a form of institutional and artistic research. The programme is designed for delegations of no fewer than eight cultural professionals. Supported activities may include encounters with local and international artistic scenes, training, conferences and experience-sharing sessions, networking, and B2B meetings. Mobility must take place between February and December 2027, in Africa, Europe, or across both regions. There is no application fee. The call operates on a rolling basis, which places a premium on readiness and clarity of intent rather than on last-minute urgency. For the artist or producer, the value lies in the quality of the professional programme proposed and its fit with the hosting event. The jury will look for mobility that is purposeful, reciprocal, and legible within a broader career trajectory—not attendance for its own sake. The consortium's institutional reach across African and European contexts means successful projects enter a network attentive to long-term collaboration rather than one-off visibility.
