Tourbus Europa: For Musicians or Bookers in Denmark, Sweden or Germany for Data-driven Tour Planning (Remote)
Overview
TOURBUS EUROPA is a European collaboration co-funded by Creative Europe that examines new models for international touring and collaboration within contemporary and experimental music. The programme employs data-informed insights to map potential touring routes, connections, and opportunities across Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, aiming to support artistic and strategic decision-making for touring artists and bookers. This is not a traditional grant or prize; it is a structured, process-oriented programme designed to rethink how mobility and exchange function in the contemporary music field. The initiative comprises two distinct open calls. The first seeks fifteen performers, groups, or soloists—five each from Denmark, Sweden, and Germany—working in contemporary, experimental, or newly composed music. The second call invites fifteen independent organisers and venues based in those same countries, with a maximum of five per country, to participate. Selected participants engage in a structured programme that includes three to four group workshops and one to two reflection sessions, among other activities. The programme does not charge a fee, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Curatorially, TOURBUS EUROPA is rooted in the belief that data and shared reflection can illuminate sustainable pathways for touring and collaboration. It prioritises practitioners who are not only creating work but also thinking critically about the infrastructure that supports it. By bringing together artists and organisers from three countries, the programme fosters a transnational community of peers who can collectively interrogate and reshape the touring landscape for contemporary and experimental music.
