Perform Europe: Third Call for Cross-Border Touring in the Performing Arts
Overview
Perform Europe is a multi-partner initiative co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, conceived to reconsider how performing arts circulate across national borders. This third call supports touring projects that demonstrate innovative approaches to transnational mobility, with stated priorities of sustainability, inclusivity, and audience development. The programme is administered by a consortium of cultural networks and is open to artists and organisations working in the performing arts, including music, dance, and visual art when presented in a performative context. Selected projects receive financial support for cross-border touring, with grants intended to cover travel, logistics, and presentation costs. Beyond funding, the programme offers visibility through the Perform Europe network and opportunities for peer learning. The initiative explicitly prioritises projects that address contemporary challenges in the sector, such as equitable representation and environmental responsibility. The curatorial vision is one of systemic change: rather than merely subsidising existing touring models, Perform Europe seeks proposals that interrogate and redesign how work moves across borders. The jury will look for clarity of intent, feasibility, and a genuine commitment to the stated priorities. This is not a prize for artistic excellence alone, but an investment in projects that can serve as models for a more sustainable and inclusive performing arts ecology.
