Overview

The Barbican Centre, a cornerstone of London's cultural landscape, invites applications for the permanent, salaried position of Senior Producer, Learning and Participation. This role is situated within an institution renowned for its commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement, offering a rare opportunity to shape participatory practice at a senior level. The Senior Producer will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and delivering projects that place learning and participation at the heart of the Barbican's mission, working across youth arts, community co-creation, performance, visual arts, and multidisciplinary projects. The position demands a producer with a proven track record of creating ambitious, artistically rigorous work in collaboration with artists, community partners, and internal stakeholders. It is not a junior coordination post; rather, it requires strategic leadership and the ability to navigate the intersection of artistic programming and social responsiveness. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to fostering meaningful engagement with the arts, ensuring that participatory practice is both innovative and inclusive. The role offers a competitive salary of £59,060–£66,670 per year, inclusive of Inner London Weighting, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes Barbican Membership, a Local Government Pension Scheme, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, discounts at Barbican and City Corporation venues, reciprocal entry to selected London galleries and museums, and an employee volunteering allowance of up to two days per year.
