Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery — Art Critique
Overview
Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery has established its Art Critique Program as a structured opportunity for artists to receive an unbiased evaluation of their work. Unlike conventional open calls that culminate in exhibition or publication, this program is diagnostic in nature: it offers a considered assessment of technical and formal qualities—skill, creativity, composition, color, balance, and perspective—with the stated aim of aiding artistic growth. The gallery positions itself as an outside eye, one unencumbered by the familiarity that can blind an artist to persistent issues in a single piece or an entire body of work. The critique is tailored to the artist's own concerns. Applicants are asked to provide details about the media they use and to specify the areas in which they seek assistance—whether those are technical questions, conceptual uncertainties, or broader concerns about a work that feels unresolved. This input shapes the evaluation, making the process responsive rather than generic. Artists may submit up to three artworks for a single critique. For three-dimensional work, the gallery requires examination from three different perspectives to ensure a proper assessment; those submitting more than one 3D piece must complete an additional critique submission for each work beyond the first. The program operates on a rolling basis with a deadline of January 1, 2028. A fee of $25.00 (USD) applies. No prize, exhibition, or publication is offered; the value lies in the critique itself. Artists should approach this as they would a studio visit or portfolio review—an occasion for candid, professional feedback rather than a competitive award.
