Express Submissions, Jackdaw Review Winter 2027

Overview
Jackdaw Press is currently open for submissions to the Winter 2027 issue of Jackdaw Review. The journal seeks poetry and artwork that is evocative, well-polished, and accessible, with an emphasis on vivid imagery, strong narratives, and fresh perspectives. The inaugural issue is available online to provide a sense of the publication's aesthetic. The review is published as an online flip book, a format that prioritizes broad accessibility over print distribution. Submissions are accepted through the forms provided by the press. Poets may submit 3–5 poems; an Express Response option is available for a $10 fee, guaranteeing a response within 14 business days. Simultaneous submissions are permitted, provided the press is notified immediately if the work is accepted elsewhere. All work must be previously unpublished. Jackdaw Press acquires First North American rights and the right to reprint in anthologies and online. Contributors are not currently paid. The journal's curatorial vision centers on work that balances craft with clarity—poetry and visual art that communicate without sacrificing complexity. The online flip book format suggests an interest in how text and image function in digital reading environments, though the primary criterion remains the quality and resonance of the submitted work.
