Queer Love: A Folly Eros Issue
Overview
Folly Eros returns for a second volume, this time turning its attention to the queer community's expressions of desire, intimacy, and romance. Edited by London-based George Parker, the anthology seeks writing that moves across the full register of queer experience—from tender trysts to latexed fists, from playful Polari to subversive sluts. The call is explicit in its appetite for bold, unapologetic work that bends gender and genre, and that treats erotic and romantic life as sites of both pleasure and resistance. The project is rooted in a lineage of queer cultural production that refuses respectability. Its epigraph from Derek Jarman—'Purple is passionate, maybe violet becomes a little bolder and ***** pink into purple. Sweet lavender blushes and watches.'—signals a curatorial sensibility attuned to color, camp, and the sensual textures of language. Parker has stated a particular interest in work from those living at the intersection of global majority, trans, disabled, and otherwise marginalised identities, suggesting an editorial vision that understands desire as inseparable from the politics of who is permitted to want and be wanted. Writers selected for the volume will see their work published in the anthology, joining a project that treats erotica and romance not as niche or confessional but as legitimate literary modes. The submission fee is $10 USD. The deadline is October 31, 2026. There is no prize or cash award attached; the value here is publication within a curated queer anthology with a distinct editorial point of view.
