Reedsy, a platform known for connecting writers with editorial and publishing services, hosts this recurring writing contest as part of its broader commitment to fostering literary community. While the contest encompasses multiple genres, this call specifically seeks poetry, offering a focused opportunity for poets to gain recognition and a modest financial award. The contest is open globally, reflecting Reedsy's international user base and its interest in diverse voices. The prize structure is straightforward: a $250 cash award for the winner, publication on Reedsy Prompts, and a $25 credit for Reedsy Marketplace services for shortlisted entries. The entry fee of $5 is standard for many writing contests and helps support the administration of the award. The deadline of December 31, 2026, provides ample time for poets to refine their submissions. While the contest does not specify a thematic focus, the broad genre categories suggest an openness to various poetic styles and subjects. Reedsy's platform emphasizes quality and craft, and this contest likely reflects those values, seeking poems that demonstrate originality, technical skill, and emotional resonance. The opportunity is best suited for poets who are looking to build their publication record and engage with a wider literary community.
