About the organization
ADAGP (Société des Auteurs dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastiques) is a French collective management organization founded in 1953 to protect the intellectual property rights of artists in the visual and applied arts. As a non-profit, it collects and distributes royalties from the reproduction and public display of works, while also administering a range of grants, residencies, and awards that support contemporary creation. Its mission extends beyond rights management to include advocacy for artists' economic and moral interests, both in France and internationally through reciprocal agreements with sister societies.

Artists should first ensure their works are registered with ADAGP or a affiliated society to be eligible for many opportunities. For grants and calls, carefully review eligibility criteria—often restricted to specific media or career stages—and submit a concise, well-documented proposal that clearly articulates the project's public benefit. Deadlines are strict, and applications in French are typically required unless otherwise stated. Contact the relevant department for clarification well in advance.
