About the organization
ART COMP is an annual open competition that has operated without a fixed institutional base, emerging as a recurring fixture in the contemporary art calendar. Founded on the premise that a competition can function as a temporary public sphere, it prioritizes the exhibition of shortlisted works over the accumulation of permanent collection or real estate. Its core mission is to provide a level platform for artists at any career stage, with selection driven by the work itself rather than biography or affiliation.

Taking part
Applicants should read the annual call carefully, as eligibility criteria and media categories can shift from year to year. The jury tends to favor resolved, self-contained works over sketches or proposals, so submit documentation of finished pieces. Keep statements concise and avoid over-theorizing; the selection process is visual-first. There is usually a modest entry fee, but fee waivers are available on request. Deadlines are strict, and late entries are not considered.
