About the organization

ERI is a global, decentralized platform that connects artists with opportunities across North America and beyond. Founded to address the opacity of traditional arts funding, ERI operates as a curatorial and informational hub rather than a conventional institution. Its core mission is to democratize access to residencies, grants, and exhibitions by aggregating and contextualizing open calls, with a particular emphasis on underrepresented voices and process-driven practices.

Taking part

Artists approaching ERI should treat it as a portal, not a gatekeeper. Carefully review each opportunity's specific criteria, as ERI aggregates calls from diverse sources. Tailor your application to the host institution's stated mission, and prioritize clarity and concision in your materials. ERI favors proposals that demonstrate a clear understanding of context and a genuine need for the resources offered. Avoid generic statements; instead, articulate how the opportunity aligns with your practice and community.
