About the organization
The Joshua Tree National Park Association (JTNPA) is the official nonprofit partner of Joshua Tree National Park, founded in 1961 to support interpretive, educational, and scientific programs within the park. Its mission is to inspire stewardship and appreciation of the park's natural and cultural resources through art, education, and research. The association manages the park's visitor centers, publishes books and guides, and hosts the annual Joshua Tree National Park Art Expo, now in its 14th year, which invites artists to capture the essence of the park through various media. By integrating artistic expression with environmental advocacy, JTNPA fosters a dialogue between creative practice and conservation.

Artists interested in the Art Expo should first review the annual prospectus on the JTNPA website, which outlines eligibility, media categories, and deadlines. Submissions typically require a fee and digital images of work that reflects the park's landscapes, flora, fauna, or cultural history. Given the association's conservation mission, artists are encouraged to consider how their work fosters appreciation and stewardship of Joshua Tree National Park. It is advisable to contact the art expo coordinator with specific questions and to subscribe to the newsletter for timely updates.
