About the organization
The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) was established in 1990 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Warrant Holders Association and the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Its founding ethos is to sustain and advance British craftsmanship by providing scholarships to talented and aspiring craftspeople. QEST supports the training and education of craftspeople in traditional skills, contemporary crafts, and emerging disciplines, ensuring that these skills are passed on to future generations. The trust awards scholarships for both practical training and academic study, with a focus on excellence, dedication, and the potential to contribute to the craft sector.

Applicants should demonstrate a clear plan for how a QEST scholarship will advance their craft skills and career. The selection committee looks for evidence of exceptional talent, commitment, and the potential to make a significant contribution to the craft sector. Proposals should be well-researched and include a detailed budget and timeline. It is advisable to contact QEST staff for guidance before applying, and to ensure that the proposed training or study aligns with QEST's mission to support British craftsmanship.
