About the organization

The Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) at the University of Missouri was established in 2004 as a hub for innovation in journalism. Its fellowship programs, including the Residential Fellowship, support individuals and teams working on projects that advance the practice and understanding of journalism. RJI emphasizes collaboration, experimentation, and practical solutions to challenges facing newsrooms and communities. Application guidance

Applicants should propose projects with clear relevance to journalism's future, demonstrating a feasible plan and potential for impact. RJI values diverse perspectives and collaborative approaches. It is advisable to review past fellowship projects to understand the scope and expectations, and to articulate how the fellowship would advance both the project and the fellow's professional growth.
