About the organization
The Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR) is an international, interdisciplinary organization founded in 1993 to advance the scientific study of reading and reading-related processes. Its mission is to promote rigorous empirical research, foster communication among researchers from diverse fields such as psychology, education, linguistics, and neuroscience, and disseminate findings that inform educational practice and policy. The Society achieves these aims through its annual conference, the flagship journal Scientific Studies of Reading, and various initiatives that support early-career scholars and international collaboration.
