About the organization
The Creative Industries Fund NL (Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie) is the Dutch national cultural fund for architecture, design, digital culture, and related creative disciplines. Established in 2012 through the merger of several sector-specific funds, it operates as a strategic grant-making body under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Its founding ethos is to foster exceptional quality, experimentation, and social relevance across the creative industries, supporting both emerging and established makers. The Fund’s mission is to strengthen the international position of Dutch creative industries, encourage cross-sector collaboration, and address urgent societal challenges through design and digital innovation.

Taking part
Applicants should first align their project with one of the Fund’s specific grant programmes (e.g., Talent Development, Internationalization, or Immaterial Heritage). Thoroughly read the programme’s aims and assessment criteria; proposals that explicitly articulate artistic quality, knowledge development, and societal impact fare best. Budgets must be realistic and co-funding is often required. The application process is competitive and deadline-driven, so early preparation and clear, concise project descriptions are essential. Contact the relevant programme advisor before submitting to clarify eligibility and expectations.
