About the organization

The Tulsa Artists’ Coalition (TAC) is a nonprofit, artist-run organization founded in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Established by a group of local artists seeking an independent, non-commercial space for contemporary work, TAC has operated TAC Gallery in the downtown Brady Arts District for over three decades. Its core mission is to support emerging and mid-career artists through exhibitions, community programming, and an annual open submission process, with a particular emphasis on regional voices while remaining open to national and international applicants.

Taking part

TAC reviews exhibition proposals on a rolling basis, with a primary annual deadline for the following year’s season. Artists should submit a concise proposal (500 words max), 10–15 images of recent work, an artist statement, and a CV. The gallery favors cohesive bodies of work that engage with contemporary issues or regional context, and while there is no fee to apply, artists are responsible for shipping and insurance. Given the volunteer-run nature of the organization, response times can be slow; follow up politely after eight weeks. TAC does not offer stipends or production budgets, but provides a well-trafficked space and promotional support.
