About the organization

World Architecture Community (WAC) is an international online platform founded in 2006 to foster dialogue and recognition in architecture. Its WA Awards, launched in 2009, operate on a unique peer-review model: winners are selected by the community's registered architects and by previous award recipients, rather than by a closed jury. This ethos of distributed expertise aims to democratize recognition and highlight projects that might otherwise remain under the radar of traditional prize circuits. The awards are open to built, unbuilt, and conceptual works, with categories including Realised, Unrealised, and Student projects.

Application guidance

Applicants should first register on worldarchitecture.org to become part of the community; only registered members can submit. Carefully review the current cycle's categories and eligibility—projects must not have been submitted to previous WA Awards cycles. The submission requires a concise project description, high-quality images, and drawings. Since judging is by peers, clarity and visual impact are paramount. Avoid overly theoretical language; instead, communicate the project's design merit and contextual relevance. Early submission is advised to allow time for any technical issues. Note that there is an entry fee, which varies by category and submission date.
