A. Alvarez

A. Alvarez is a poet and critic who appeared as a contributor to Oxford Poetry, the Oxford-based magazine founded in 1910. He is named among the magazine's past contributors on its own About page and on Wikipedia. Pages also associate him with the criticism The Shaping Spirit and with the Penguin anthology New Poetry, whose introduction attacked the emotional restraint of the Movement poets.
