ALEX TUM
Alex Tum is a sculptor who works in welding and industrial art, with sculptures made mainly of wood and steel. He completed a B.F.A. in studio art at Rhode Island College in 2024. He was in residence at The Steel Yard in Providence through August 2025. His work “Motherland” examines the Khmer Rouge period in Cambodia and the history of his family, who are survivors of the genocide. He combines body parts and weapons from that period into abstract forms about alienation, displacement, and disillusionment.
