ALQUMIT ALHAMAD

Alqumit Alhamad is a Syrian research-based visual artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden, working across painting, sculpture, textiles, sound, light and installation. His work deals with war, dictatorship, displacement, censorship and queer identity. He completed an MFA at HDK-Valand in 2024. In 2025 he was an artist-in-residence at Platform in Vaasa, Finland, where he gave an interview and showed the exhibition I Dress, Therefore I Disrupt. His recent honours include Västra Götaland Region's Kulturstipendium and a Swedish Arts Grants Committee working grant.
