Andrius Arutiunian

Andrius Arutiunian is an Armenian-Lithuanian artist and composer based in the Netherlands, born in 1991. Trained as a composer at the Royal Conservatory The Hague, they work with sound across installation, film, sculpture and performance. Their work often uses hypnotic forms to question musical and political attunement, and treats sound as a way of ordering the world. In 2022 they represented Armenia at the 59th Venice Art Biennale. They were a 2021 European Media Art Platform resident at FACT in Liverpool, where they developed The Irresistible Powers of Silent Talking, a work on automated deception recognition in border surveillance.
