Artemise Ploegaerts

Artemise Ploegaerts is an Amsterdam-based artist who works with video, dance performance and archival material. Her practice treats video editing as a form of choreography. She makes 'moving' portraits that link people's bodies to their history and the political and social contexts that shaped them. She was OT301 resident #30 in 2020. Her work often centers on female immigrants, expatriates and women with bicultural backgrounds. She trained in dance at TrinityLaban in London and in choreography at ArtEZ in Arnhem. Recent performance credits include B.base (2023) at 4bid Gallery and VIRTA at OT301.
