Asante Salaam

Asante Salaam is a New Orleans-born interdisciplinary artist who works across visual chronicles, immersive installations, artist books, and portraits. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in San Diego and New Orleans and is held in private collections. She took part in a 2025 residency at A Studio in the Woods, where she developed the Sweet Spot cultural arts family compound concept. She previously was an artist-in-residence there and at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans in 2020.
