Basti Kuhz

Basti Kuhz is a German-origin sound artist with a background in technology and healthcare. Their residency at KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre in Ii in March 2025 focused on listening to the environment, including snow, ice, and skis. The residency produced ÄäniIistä, a multichannel soundscape shown at the centre's gallery. Since 2022 they have made installations and performances that combine 3D printing with music. Basti Kuhz chairs Sound Collective ry in Oulu. Their work examines how soundscapes affect well-being and how sound can calm or stress people.
