Benjamin Francis

Benjamin Francis (born 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist who works across installation, object-based work, performance, sculpture and video. He describes himself as a dyslexic Dutch-Surinamese and queer artist. His work examines how bodily discipline, language correction and hygiene shape ideas of right and wrong, and who holds power to decide them. He was a resident at Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) in 2026, where he explored the history of Japanese social hygiene from the Meiji era and produced performance scripts and sculptures.
