Bi Rongrong

Bi Rongrong is a Chinese artist born in 1982 in Ningbo who lives and works in Shanghai. She trained in Chinese traditional landscape painting in Sichuan and earned an MFA in painting in the Netherlands. Her practice treats collected patterns from cities, landscapes and everyday surfaces as materials, which she reworks through drawing, painting, hand and machine weaving, animation and installation. She describes this process as "weaving". She was a 2024 resident of TaDA - Textile and Design Alliance in Arbon, Switzerland, and her work was included in the TaDA: TOGETHER exhibition in 2025.
