Boris Jöns

Boris Jöns (born 1970) is a German interdisciplinary artist and musician. His work centres on conversation and speech as material, using public interventions, live shows, workshops, and sound and coding in hybrid formats. He was a resident at ZK/U Berlin in 2018 and again in 2022. In 2018 he developed WATC, a machine-learning interface that turns online comments into participatory music. His 2022 installation A SOFT TONGUE BREAKS THE BONE, made with the University of Hamburg's Musar research group, invited audience comments that were sorted and used as sound.
