Brendan Basham

Brendan Basham is a Diné writer, artist, and chef from the Zuni Mountains in New Mexico. He was the Ucross Foundation's first culinary resident in 2025, and he first worked on his debut novel during a 2021 Ucross Fellowship for Native American Writers. His debut novel, Swim Home to the Vanished, is about a grieving line cook who settles in a fishing village dominated by a family of brujas.
