Carmelo Pampillonio

Carmelo Pampillonio is a sound artist and researcher. His work examines the materiality of sound, ecology, and the relations between human and non-human forces. Pages list him as a US-based artist. He was a resident at Titanik A.i.R. in Turku, Finland, in late 2022, where he presented Mineral Firmament, a piece built around buried microphones and recordings of arctic auroras. He also worked with Samuel Hertz on geophysical sound and transmission research. In summer 2019 he and Samuel Hertz were residents at Pioneer Works, through a partnership with Wave Farm, and led a workshop on their Earth-Moon-Earth radio relay experiments.
