Carolyn Gennari

Carolyn Gennari is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans video, performance, installation, and electrophotography. Her practice draws on archives and asks how the past is held and reproduced. She is based in Rochester, NY, where she teaches as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Rochester. She completed a residency at Elsewhere Museum in Greensboro, NC, in spring 2019, where she made the video The Object of This Exercise. That work follows objects from the museum's collection through surrealist performance vignettes.
