Christopher Sonny Martinez

Christopher Sonny Martinez, known as Sonny Martinez, is a filmmaker and photographer from Oak Cliff, Dallas. He has worked in Chicago, New York, and Dallas. His work focuses on intimate moments through a Queer Chicano, or Tejanx, lens. He was Art's Mission Oak Cliff's first Artist-in-Residence in 2021 and ACRE's Artist-in-Residence in 2018. He graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He was a member of The Cedars Union's Studio Artists Cohort 4 and appeared in its 2025 'Material Realities' exhibition.
