COLLEEN MAYNARD

Colleen Maynard is a visual artist based in Houston, Texas, whose work draws on fossils and the biodiversity of the past. She was an artist-in-residence at Prairieside Outpost in Kansas in November 2017. Her residency work focused on Flint Hills limestone and fossil specimens, which she studied and drew. She is a Kansas City Art Institute alumna (Creative Writing & Painting, 2007) and was included in the 2025 exhibition marking ten years of the Prairieside residency.
