Cory Diane
Cory Diane (they/them pronouns used on the source page) is a performer, composer and sound artist based in New Orleans whose work examines sound and vibration as ways of knowing and relating. Their 2025-26 residency project at A Studio in the Woods connects research on gravitational wave astronomy with work on climate justice and their experience of living with a physical disability and chronic pain. The project includes continued collaboration with LIGO physicists and the prototyping of a sunlight-played instrument called a 'harp.' Earlier, during a 2023 residency there, they developed a multidisciplinary project on the Gulf of Mexico and the endangered Rice's Whale.
