Elise Rasmussen

Elise Rasmussen is a research-based artist working in photography, video, performance and installation. Her work examines how history, memory and the archive are told and retold, often through a feminist lens. She was born in Edmonton, Canada, and holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been a past artist in residence at Pioneer Works, where she developed work on re-purposing histories and 1970s land art. Her 2024 solo show 'the beautiful' at Night Gallery in Los Angeles photographed national parks in the American West. She received the 2016 Barbara Spohr Memorial Award from Banff Centre.
