Elliot Menard

Elliot Menard is an opera-maker, performer-composer, and mezzo-soprano who creates interdisciplinary opera-theater. Their work often draws on Latin poetry, translation, and the expressive range of the voice. They received the 2026 William and Solange Brown Fellowship for New Musical Composition at Ragdale. Menard is developing Umbra, an opera-theater work about grief, and Sulpicia Songs, a one-woman opera based on the poems of Sulpicia. Their work has been programmed by groups including CalArts, Highways Performance Space, and the Hear Now Music Festival. Menard also serves as Director of Operations at Overtone Industries in Los Angeles, a role tied to building infrastructure for emerging voices in experimental opera.
