Emese Kazar

Emese Kazar (also written Kazár) is a painter whose work draws on older religious imagery, especially depictions of Christ. Her 2020 Bremen exhibition reinterpreted 15th- and 16th-century paintings by artists such as Rogier van der Weyden and Andrea Mantegna. She was a 2026 resident in Viafarini's VIR programme in Milan, and in 2025 co-created the artist's book DA MESSINA* with Andrea Fajgerné Dudás and Viktoria Kurnicki.
