Emile VAN HELLEPUTTE

Emile Van Helleputte is an artist-researcher who took part in the Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) residency in 2026 as a participant in the Brussels-Tokyo Exchange Residency Program. During the residency they studied Japanese gitaigo, the sound-mimetic words, through interviews, recordings and participatory work. They also organized collaborative listening sessions, and their work was shown at the TOKAS Open Studio in July 2026.
