Emmett Palaima

Emmett Palaima is an artist who works with electronics and esoteric sound processes, based on the idea that technology and magic are closely linked. He builds sound instruments that treat sound as a physical, sculptural process. He is half of the collaborative duo Gabriela Ruiz & Emmett Palaima, who were Pioneer Works visual arts residents in 2026. His ongoing installation Test Bed at Pioneer Works uses a custom synthesis system to produce a drone tuned to the garden's natural sounds.
