Extended Music Collective
Extended Music Collective is a Belgian-linked contemporary music ensemble and creative collective that commissions, performs and co-creates new music across disciplines. Its work spans world premieres, cross-art collaborations and reinterpretations of composers such as Julius Eastman and David Lang. The collective was founded by harpist Stef Van Vynckt, who is also co-founder of Inland Ocean. EMC has held a residency at Avaloch Farm Music Institute in the United States and appeared in that institute's 2024 Artists in Residence list. Its other listed residencies include Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and an upcoming residency at Britten Pears Arts. The collective also won First Prize (Chamber Music) at the Fondazione Flavio Vespasiano competition in Italy.
