Gabrielle Herbst

Gabrielle Herbst is a composer and vocalist who performs as a singer/songwriter under the name GABI. Her works include operas, orchestral, electronic, and chamber music, and she has received commissions from Roulette, the Jerome Foundation, and Fresh Squeezed Opera, among others. She has held composer-in-residence posts at the Watermill Center, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Avaloch Farms, and Roulette, and had a music residency at Pioneer Works in June 2021. Her compositions have been presented at venues including National Sawdust, The Stone, and Lincoln Center Atrium. She released the albums Sympathy (2015, Software Recording Co.) and Empty Me (2018, Double Double Whammy) and teaches songwriting and voice at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
