Gibby Haynes

Gibby Haynes is an American musician, radio personality, and painter, best known as lead singer of Butthole Surfers. He received a BA from Trinity University. He was a past visual arts resident at Pioneer Works, where he worked in partnership with Recess. His paintings translate his long-term ties to sound and hardcore punk into abstract work, typically 8-foot square canvases of bold, contrasting concentric geometric forms. His work has been shown at Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica and The Station in Houston.
