Gidree Bawlee

Gidree Bawlee is a community-based arts collective from Balia village, Thakurgaon, Bangladesh, founded in 2001 by Kamruzzaman Shadhin and now run jointly with Salma Jamal Moushum. The collective works through participatory, multidisciplinary practices that address local history, culture and the environment. Its projects have been shown at venues including the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Dhaka Art Summit, Asia Pacific Triennial and Museo Madre. At Art Explora's Paris residency in 2025 it developed "Imagined Land", a project on migration, memory and identity working with Bangladeshi migrant communities.
