Guillermo Gomez Pena

Guillermo Gómez-Peña is a Mexico City-born performance artist, writer and radical pedagogue who moved to the US in 1978. He leads the performance troupe La Pocha Nostra, which he founded in Los Angeles in 1993. His work and books, which the Live Art Ireland page counts at 21, focus on border culture, cultural and gender diversity, and North-South relations. He has held MacArthur, Guggenheim and Bessie recognitions and has worked with Live Art Ireland as an artist in residence and workshop leader.
