Hamlet Lavastida

Hamlet Lavastida is a Cuban multidisciplinary artist born in Havana in 1983 who works with paper cut-outs, collage, and installation to examine political propaganda and historical memory. He trained at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. He was an artist-in-residence at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, where he presented 'Cultura Profiláctica' in 2021. After his detention in Cuba in 2021, he went into exile and now lives in Berlin.
